Interpretation Support Services at Trinity Lutheran Church for ESL Class Enrollment
Objective(s): Enroll 61 adults and 20 babies and children in ESL classes offered by Trinity Lutheran Church. Ensure diverse interpretation within enrolled adults targeting individuals from various cultural backgrounds and proficiency levels. Increase community awareness of ISC’s PASS program.
Summary:
On April 3 and April 5, 2024, Trinity Lutheran Church partnered with the International Service Center (ISC) to facilitate the enrollment process for ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. This collaboration aimed to assist adult individuals with interpretation needs and provide them with access to ESL education. This event, attended by ISC staff including Dr. Phuong, Olena, Daria, Hadia, Zahra, Avinash, Honore, and Sundus, ensured that the students were provided interpretation assistance during their enrollment process and assessment of their English proficiency needs. In preparation for the event, ISC communicated with Laura Butcher and our team of volunteers and interpreters to discuss the key points of the event and assigned tasks and responsibilities to the stakeholders.
